Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has shared an adorable clip showing him swimming backstroke with his baby son George hitching a ride on his chest.

Peaty, 27, was in a swimming pool grinning as the youngster, who he shares with girlfriend Eirianedd Munro, perches on his chest and wraps his arms around his neck.

The swimming champ, who has won several Olympic medals for Team GB, gives his son, 1, an adoring gaze as he says “wow”. in an apparent bid to emphasise the special moment they were sharing.

Peaty, who starred in last year’s Strictly Come Dancing joked in the caption that if he swap “5 more meters and I would’ve drowned”.

The Uttoxeter born star revealed he had just arrived at a training camp in Tenerife ahead of the swimming world championships in June which he’ll be competing in.

He said: “I’ve arrived in Tenerife for a training camp and is always hard saying bye to the family; however I’m looking forward to making some major pushes over the next few weeks.”

The swimmer also shared an adorable snap of him standing in the pool with his son.

Adam and his little one both gave huge smiles to the camera in the snap – both clearly enjoying the sweet father-son moment – and the swimmer suggested in the caption that his son may follow in his footsteps.

He said: “He loves this swimming thing way too much.”

In another cute snap, George was sitting by the pool dressed in a striped white and yellow top and burgundy trousers.

Adam and his girlfriend welcomed their son in 2020 and the swimming star describes his son as his biggest motivation.

He previously told his Instagram fans that his son makes him “the happiest man on the planet’.

Adam marked his son’s six-month anniversary early last year with a sweet Instagram post.

He wrote: “Thank you @eirimunro for the best gift and being the best mum anyone could ask for, you don’t get enough credit for what you do. You really are the MVP.”

Adam missed his baby’s 1st birthday celebrations due to his Strictly commitments.

However, he made sure he remembered his son’s big day on Instagram.

“Happy 1st Birthday to my king”, wrote Adam.

“I can’t believe how fast this year has gone and how much you’ve grown”.

Adam sweetly captioned this photo: “Wonder which one of us had a hard week lol” as he posed next to his lookalike son.
