Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs Awards $5M to the Creative Group
December 17, 2020 — Houston creative community has been strike difficult throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as tunes venues and artwork areas have closed. To help fight some of the monetary strain impacting regional artists and cultural organizations, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs (MOCA) distributed $5 million to artists, cultural corporations, songs venues and musicians.
MOCA, in collaboration with Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) and Mid-The usa Arts Alliance (MAAA), productively distributed federal CARES resources to 691 recipients. A full of 226 artists, 308 musicians, 36 new music venues, and 121 arts and cultural organizations received assistance.
